AccuFiz Duo

Short and Long Coherence Fizeau Interferometer in One System

High precision, dynamic interferometer combines long and short coherence capabilities into one system for measuring an expanded range of optics.

4D Technology AccuFiz D Fizeau Laser Interferometer

The AccuFiz Duo’s short coherence mode performs onaxis dynamic measurements, incorporating patented technology using a single camera, high-speed phase sensor that makes a wavefront measurement in as little as 150 microseconds. The result is highly accurate measurements, even in the presence of vibration and turbulence.

The short coherence length source enables measurement of plane parallel glass surfaces down to 0.2mm thickness without needing to coat either surface to eliminate unwanted fringes. Other applications include remote cavity measurements, testing index homogeneity, and testing in environmental chambers. A fast, automated internal system lets you quickly scan to locate and isolate each surface.

The AccuFiz Duo’s additional long coherence source uses a stabilized HeNe laser and operates with all the benefits of a standard phase shifting Fizeau interferometer. The long coherence mode enables very long cavity measurements and has spatial carrier dynamic mode as an option for vibration and turbulence mitigation. It is also useful for standard radius of curvature measurements. The 632.8nm HeNe source facilitates measurements with digital holograms.

Measure broader range of optics in a lab or shop floor

The AccuFiz Duo, with it’s vibration insensitive short coherence mode and optional spatial carrier long coherence mode, can operate in environments where other instruments simply cannot. Use the AccuFiz Duo in the lab or right on the shop floor to measure:

  • Windows, thin glass, sapphire wafers
  • Domes and other curved, transparent components
  • Flats, spheres, prisms
  • Polished semiconductor components
  • Remote cavities
  • Solid cavities
  • Optical thickness and homogeneity
  • Transmission of components and systems
  • Rapid alignment of optical systems
  • Testing into vacuum and environmental chambers

Large aperture options

The AccuFiz Duo is fully compatible with 4D large optics accessories. These beam expanders and mounts enable easy handling and measurement of large optics, with 12 in (300 mm), 18 in (450 mm) and 24 in (600 mm) options. Kinematic mounting means you can use the interferometer with the accessories, remove it to use in stand-alone mode, then return it to the beam expander without realignment.

Measuring Transparent Domes Application Note

Thin, transparent domes present several challenges for interferometric measurement. This application note shows how a “surface isolation source” makes it possible to isolate and measure the outer and inner surfaces of transparent domes in a single setup.
