Fizeau Options & Accessories
A comprehensive line of optics, mounts and options for our AccuFiz Fizeau Interferometers. Many are suitable for your third party interferometer as well.
Fizeau interferometers provide high quality wave front measurements of general purpose and meter-class optics. Measurement quality, however, can be compromised by inferior mounting components and ad hoc mounting configurations.
4D Technology’s optical mounting components make setup fast and repeatable, improving both productivity and measurement quality. Rigid and vibration-resistant, these easy-to-use mounts interface with most manufacturers’ optics to maximize investment value. Mounts are available in 4-inch and 6-inch versions to accommodate most Fizeau interferometers, including 4D AccuFiz interferometers.
Optical Mounts
4D optical mount components for laser interferometers reduce setup time and improve both productivity and measurement quality. Rigid and vibration-resistant, these easy-to-use mounts interface with most manufacturers’ optics. Available in both 4-inch and 6-inch versions to accommodate most Fizeau laser interferometers, including 4D AccuFiz Compact Fizeau Interferometers and FizCam Dynamic Interferometers. See Configuration Guide below.
Optics
4D offers a range of bayonet mount, 4- and 6-inch optics to complete your test setup. Choose from λ/10 or λ/20 quality transmission flats and return flats, or λ/10, λ/15 or λ/20 transmission spheres and reference spheres, from F/0.65 through F/12.5. Various reflectivities and attenuation coatings are offered. Larger optics up to 18 inches are also available.
Digital Radius Slides
4D’s family of Digital Radius Slides for AccuFiz Fizeau Laser Interferometers provide axial positioning resolution down to 10nm. Vertical and horizontal slides function in conjunction with 4D Technology’s 4Sight Analysis Software for easy, extremely accurate Radius of Curvature measurement for concave or convex optics.
Radial slides are available in horizontal or vertical orientation.
Motorized Tip/Tilt
The motorized tip/tilt accessory for AccuFiz Laser Interferometers lets you remotely align the reference optic, for precise system alignment, easy positioning in hard-to-reach locations, and automated calibration of dynamic measurement mode. Both 4″ (100 mm) and 6″ (150 mm) models available.

Optical Mounts
4D optical mount components for laser interferometers reduce setup time and improve both productivity and measurement quality. Rigid and vibration-resistant, these easy-to-use mounts interface with most manufacturers’ optics. Available in both 4-inch and 6-inch versions to accommodate most Fizeau laser interferometers, including 4D AccuFiz Compact Fizeau Interferometers. See Configuration Guide below.
Fixed Base
This rugged, stable base is the heart of the 4D optical mount system for laser interferometer measurements. Captive screws enable quick attachment of additional components. Steel ball guides enable the mount to be accurately translated along the optical axis with the available Table Guide.
2-Axis Base
This mount combines the Fixed Base with a tip-tilt stage to accurately align optics for laser interferometer measurements. It is available in both 4-inch and 6-inch configurations. The 4-inch version provides ± 4 degrees tip/tilt, while the 6-inch version provides ± 3.5 degrees tip/tilt. Steel ball guides enable the mount to be accurately translated along the optical axis with the available Table Guide.
3-Axis Base
The XYZ stage enables precision translation in the X, Y and Z axes for laser interferometer measurements. Micrometers offer precise, drift-free positioning with negligible backlash. Steel ball guides enable the mount to be accurately translated along the optical axis with the available Table Guide.
5-Axis Base
The 5-axis XYZ Tip-Tilt Mount enables precision translation in the X, Y and Z axes, as well as tip-tilt adjustment for laser interferometer measurements. The 4-inch version provides ± 4 degrees tip/tilt, while the 6-inch version provides ± 3.5 degrees tip/tilt. Micrometers offer precise, drift-free positioning with negligible backlash. Steel ball guides enable the mount to be accurately translated along the optical axis with the available Table Guide.
Tip-Tilt Adapter
The Tip/Tilt adapter mounts to the Fixed Base or 3-Axis Base to add tip and tilt adjustment for interferometer and laser interferometer measurements. The precision mechanism prevents drift and backlash. The 4-inch adapter provides ± 4 degrees tip/tilt, while the 6-inch adapter provides ± 3.5 degrees tip/tilt. Mounts with integral screws to the Fixed Base.
Rotation Adapter
The rotation mount adds full 360 degree rotation, with precision stops at 90 degree increments for absolute flat and sphere testing on a laser interferometer. The adapter includes ±10 degrees fine adjustment, with coarse and fine position locks. The scale is easy to read in low light.
3-Jaw Mount
This self-centering 3-jaw clamp mount provides gentle grip and positive positioning for circular optics for laser interferometer measurements. Smooth, single knob adjustment grips samples from 0 inches to full diameter. Viton® jaw tips provide superior grip and resist dust and chemicals.
Bayonet Mount
This mount accepts industry-standard bayonet mount optics from most manufacturers, for laser interferometer measurements. Thumbwheel locks ensure positive positioning and zero drift.
Shelf Mount
The shelf mount provides level support for laser interferometer measurement of prisms, corner cubes, etc. Locking slides allow vertical travel (the 4-inch version provides 2.75 inches travel; the 6-inch version provides 3.25 inches travel). The shelf itself includes a mounting hole array in either English (1/4-20 threaded holes on 1 inch centers) or Metric (M6 threaded holes on 25 mm centers) configurations.
Adapter Plate
This plate enables custom optical mount configurations for laser interferometer measurements. The 4-inch adapter plate is 5.9-inches square, with 1 inch holes in its corners to accommodate the tip/tilt adapter controls. The 6-inch adapter is a solid, round plate, 8.75 inches in diameter. Both 4-inch and 6-inch adapter plates include a mounting hole array in either English (1/4-20 threaded holes on 1 inch centers) or Metric (M6 threaded holes on 25mm centers) configurations. The center row of holes along both major axes are on 1/2 inch (12 mm) centers.
6" to 4" Bayonet Adapter
This adapter lets you use 4″ bayonet mount optics with a 6″ (150mm) aperture laser interferometer. Thumbwheel locks ensure positive positioning and zero drift.
Pellicle Beamsplitter
When measuring highly reflective samples with a laser interferometer, this pellicle beamsplitter provides 25-30% transmission attenuation at 633 nm wavelength to maximize fringe contrast. Solid case and integral covers enable safe storage and transport.
Table Guide
The table guide enables the Fixed Base, 2-axis Base, 3-axis Base or 5-axis Base to be translated precisely along the optical axis for laser interferometer measurements. Ball guides on the mounts slide along the guide for positive positioning. Mounting slots enable use on either English-scale or Metric-scale optical tables.
Look-Down Stand
The Look-Down stand provides vertical mounting for AccuFiz interferometers, with either 36- or 72-inch posts.
